Spring (May) arrive in NY waters. Summer feeding heavily along coast. Fall (September-October) peak fishing. Winter migrate south. Best fishing summer and fall.
Blue-green back, silver sides. Deeply forked tail. Large mouth with sharp teeth. Prominent lateral line. Aggressive behavior. Size 3-10 pounds common, up to 20 pounds.
